Ingredients Needed for Pizza Swirls
- Pillsbury crescent rolls – To make the pinwheels, you will need to use crescent rolls as the base. These can be found at most grocery stores in the refrigerated section near the other dough products.
- Pizza sauce – You will also need some pizza sauce to use as the filling for your pinwheels. Look for a high-quality brand that is made with fresh, natural ingredients.
- Cheese – You will need a shredded cheese of your choice to fill your pinwheels. A good melting cheese, such as mozzarella or cheddar, works well for this purpose.
- Hormel pizza pepperoni – To add some delicious flavor and texture to your pinwheels, you can use pepperoni as one of the filling ingredients. Look for a high-quality brand that is made with real meat, such as Hormel.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 roll of Pillsbury crescent rolls
- 3 tablespoons pizza sauce
- 1 package Hormel pizza pepperoni or a similar brand
- 8 slices mozzarella cheese
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat the oven to 375
- Roll out the crescent rolls and pinch the seams securely (or, purchase the sheet of crescent rolls if available).
- Press the roll of dough out to measure 12 x 15
- Spoon on the pizza sauce and spread it over the surface of the dough, leaving a ¼ inch edge that’s free from the sauce.
- Layer on the pepperoni so all the slices are touching, but in a single layer.
- Layer on the sliced cheese.
- Starting from the longest side, begin to roll the dough as tightly as possible, rolling towards the other end of the roll.
- When completely rolled, pinch the free edge seam to the roll.
- Using a serrated knife, cut the pizza roll into 12 slices. Use a sawing motion and don’t press too hard. Let the knife do the work.
- Lay each roll down in a sprayed 9 x 13 baking dish.
- Bake for about 20 – 25 minutes or until golden brown and the dough is baked through, and the cheese is melted.
- Enjoy!
